Show 38 – Shamanic Activism & Resilience
In this show Jeff and John-Luke reflect in conversation with Evelyn Rysdyk on the notion of Activism from a shamanic, people of spirit and animist perspective. What is it to be a warrior for and or by spirit and how do we put this into practice or not. We also reflect on how to be resilient in the world as warriors.
Evelyn Rysdyk uses her loving humor and passion to open people's hearts and inspire them to live more joyful, fulfilling and purposeful lives. She is a nationally recognized shaman teacher/healer, speaker, and author who delights in supporting people to remember their sacred place in All That Is. Along with her first book, Modern Shamanic Living: New Explorations of an Ancient Path, she is the author of Spirit Walking: A Course in Shamanic, she contributed a chapter to Spirited Medicine: Shamanism in Contemporary Healthcare, has written numerous articles for journals and was featured in Traveling Between the Worlds, a book of interviews with 24 of the most influential teachers and writers of shamanism. In joint practice with C. Allie Knowlton as Spirit Passages, her web site is www.spiritpassages.com.
Special Earth Song “Bhooma” written by Sounds of Isha for the "Kalpavriksha" DVD to support Project GreenHands. Sounds of Isha is Sadhguru’s own home grown, anomalous group of ‘musicians’ – inspired by their deep yearning and sense of gratitude. Dabbling with and melting into their instruments, their work is a subtle fusion of the rich and diverse beings that they are. Coming a long way from their first performance in 2002, today Sounds of Isha has many albums and a huge ‘fan following’ to its credit.
Project Green Hands is founded to inspire people to plant trees, develop a culture of care towards the environment and make them realize their inevitable dependence on nature. The project mission is to increase the green cover of Tamil Nadu by 10% in order to reverse desertification, reduce soil erosion, restore self-sufficiency, recreate sustainability and counteract climate change.

I am the Earth Music and lyrics by
Glen Lehmann, written for the International Year of Planet Earth,
this song has a subtle environmental message.
It imagines a dialogue between the Earth and the world's children, focussing on the idea you're in our hands, we're in your care.
